BASF and Certis Europe test Amoéba’s biocontrol product

Lyon, 31 March 2020 - Amoéba increases the number of independent assessors of its biocontrol product to four with the signature of two new agreements with BASF and CERTIS Europe. The lysate of the amoeba Willaertia magna C2c Maky will undergo greenhouse and field testing. BASF will evaluate the performance of Amoéba’s biocontrol product in preventing fungal diseases on a range of crops. Certis Europe will undertake tests on downy mildew diseases on grapevines in three wine-producing countries: Italy, France and Germany. Once again, if the results are conclusive, these material transfer agreements could lead to commercial partnerships. “CERTIS Europe has considerable expertise and experience in the development and commercialisation of biorational products meeting the needs of modern agriculture and is well-placed to work alongside Amoéba to assess the potential of this exciting new product”, declares Jan Mostert, Head of Biorational innovation at CERTIS Europe. “These two agreements extend testing of Amoéba’s product to a world-leading chemical company and also extend European trials. Thanks to the growing interest in our solutions, our biocontrol product is entering the large-scale test phase. These tests present a significant exploitation potential for the company”, concludes Fabrice Plasson, CEO of Amoéba.
